There are lots of places to eat in the local area, most using local produce. Below is a list where we’ve visited ourselves and can recommend but if you find any more, please let us know in the guest book.

Vintage styling in this old bank where the wood panelling remains. Homecooked food with good portions in this quirky venue in the centre of town.
Bungay – The Fleece Inn

A 15th century inn where you can drink or eat, there’s even a log fire in the snug.
Dogs welcomed in the bar, snug and courtyard.

Café and a farm shop with delicious breakfasts and lunches. This is a calf with cow dairy so you can taste some raw milk and visit the animals whilst you’re there.

Recently refurbished and probably classed as a gastropub, the restaurant serves local produce with a changing menu dependant on time of year.

Take away and eat in available at this Japanese restaurant with occasional sushi special events.
If you’re looking for food to bring back to the lodge or to take out on a picnic then we recommend visiting Bungay and going to Earsham Street, here you will find The Front Room which is a beautiful baker and also the Earsham Street Deli which has some ready to eat quiches, scotch eggs etc. Alternatively Old Hall Farm shop has a lot of bits and pieces.
Whilst on your travels you may also wish to pop into Fen Farm Dairy (Flixton Road, Bungay, NR35 1PD) which has an honesty shed that’s open 6am- 8pm; selling bread, meats and treats along with their own milk and their award winning coveted cheese; Baron Bigod.
The nearest supermarket is The Coop in Bungay (Hillside Road, Bungay, NR35 1RX), alternatively there is a Morrisons in Beccles (George Westwood Way, Beccles, NR34 9BP).
The nearest corner shop and Post Office is in Ditchingham – 37 Loddon Road, Ditchingham, NR35 2RA
